This is the latest incarnation of the moening.org website. Feel free to poke around and see what you can find.
The Technological History of Moening.org:
- Iteration 1: Moening.org is registered with Godaddy. The site is hosted on a virtual Linux server with Godaddy, and the site is entirely written in HTML.
- Iteration 2: Moening.org is restructured using PHP on the Godaddy server. The subdomains latisha, hotmama, shatek, and tim are created and are also hosted from the virtual server.
- Iteration 3: Moening.org is rebuilt in PHP on moening home server using Apache. The data is injected into a MYSQL database for the back-end. subdomains are moved to the home server as well.
- Iteration 4: Moening.org is re-deployed on the updated home server running Windows 7 and IIS. The site is written in ASP.NET MVC and C# the back-end database is converted to MS SQL Server 2008.
- Iteration 5: To save on the costs of running the home server 24 hours and in anticipation of the upcoming Google Wave, public parts of the site are rebuilt on Google Sites, and the private development parts are left on the home server. Subdomains are removed or are being sent to alternate virtual servers.
